Organic TFT (thin film transistor) is possible to be produced in a large amount at a low cost because it can be printed on a flexible plastic substrate. Hence organic TFT is expected to drive a thin and light-weighted display. Carrier mobility of materials determines the response of TFT. By controlling the orientation of organic molecule inside TFT, mobility can be improved significantly even when the constituent molecule is identical. In this report, we evaluate the orientation of the sexithiophene (6T) molecule in its thin film by X-ray diffraction. 6T has the highest mobility next to pentacene among organic semiconductors.
